dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.DESDecrypt error [message #548280]

Hi

I am having the ORA error 28232 which is related to dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.DESDecrypt error while trying to log-in to RMS online. This happens to a specific user. Also tried same pattern of password for my own account and I am able to login.

Appreciate your response.

ORA-28232: invalid input length for obfuscation toolkit
 *Cause:  Length of data submitted for encryption or decryption is not a
          multiple of 8 bytes.
 *Action: Make sure that the length of the data to be encrypted or decrypted
          is a multiple of 8 bytes.

Thanks. But I already looked into that the weird thing is that it happened for a specific user, my account can log-in using same pattern of password that the erroring user has

Check the language (character set) your user is communicating with the program.
If it is UTF8 family and there is non-ascii character then the size (in bytes) is not the number of characters.

I am not that familiar with the UTF8 family. I am wondering why is that my account can logged in using same password pattern and length with the user that is having an error. Thanks.
