I have developed a form which is running fine most of the time,

but some time it gives error

unable to insert record and if we see detail it shows

ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number

error.jpg is attached.
if there is some problem, it should not pass any entry and if there is no problem then why it gives error of illegal variable?

Regards

This is what Oracle says:
Quote:

ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number

Cause: Unable to find bind context on user side

Action: Make sure that the variable being bound is in the sql statement.

Did you try to run the form in debug mode and try to detect the culprit?

Sir thanks for prompt reply.

but this error occurs only sometime. rest of the time it works fine and smooth.

my question is ...> if some variable is not being bound, then it should display error all the time. where as it displays error sometime and sometime it works fine.

In the screenshot the values list appears to have gone missing.
I suggest you raise this with oracle support.
