Location: Cambridge, MA


Key Responsibilities:
-- Analyzing and troubleshooting problems encountered by internal and external users of regulated clinical data management applications.
-- Installing and testing application patches and customizations across all environments
-- coordinating with different functional teams to investigate performance issues; determine root cause, devise remediation plan and define implementation plan.
-- Creating required documentation for application upgrades, technical support and end user support.
-- Following required procedures to coordinate with other IT groups for issue resolution and remediation in the application production environment.
-- Following all established SOPs, change control procedures and communications processes for both IT and business functions as applicable.
-- Providing technical assistance as needed to support analysts supporting related applications.

Technical Requirements
-- Familiarity with the following, or similar, software applications is required: Oracle Clinical, TMS, RDC, CRFTrack, and AERS
-- Experiences in all aspects of Oracle RDBMS version 9i to current.
-- Experiences with various Unix and Linux operating system versions and proficiency in various scripting languages
-- Sufficient knowledge of IIS, Apache, Web Services, Active Directory, Group Policies, File/Share Security, and Networks to effectively troubleshoot application operations and performance issues.
-- Excellent communications and customer service skills
-- Proven trouble shooting and decision making skills
-- Working knowledge of software version control tools

Experience

-- 4+ years supporting in house and external users of OPA applications
-- 5+ years working in a pharmaceutical R & D organization, CRO or FSP
-- 5+ years as a systems administrator, consultant or technical support analyst for the suite of Oracle Pharmaceutical Applications

Other Requirements

-- Preference for working in a collaborative, team environment
-- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
-- Demonstrated ability to establish and meet priorities and deadlines
-- Sense of humor

Education
BS degree is required. BS or MS in computer sciences is preferred.
