Found this site via a google search. I inherited a Windows instance. Posted a question - got a very good answer. I've been doing Oracle DBA work only on Sun boxes and know next to nothing about Oracle on Windows.

Looking to share the little bit I know with you folks.

Looking to gain LOTS of knowledge from you folks.

After 50+ years - the one thing I'm sure of is lots of folks know stuff I don't.

Yup, that was my first post. Mahesh Rajendran sent me the same link and from there was able to get 10g same info.

The quick and good answer helped me to decide to post a Howdy.

Howdy.

Welcome to the forums!
Nice to see some positive reaction. (I'd almost say 'for a change', but that would sound too bitter Wink).
I am sure you can offer a great deal of help, considering your experience (50+ years, should account for some experience at least Smile)

Better clarify - 50+ years old.

Been doing DBA work since 1987

IDMS, ADABAS, Model 204, Oracle, Informix, Sybase, SQLServer, MySQL

Currently only Oracle on Sun boxes with ONE instance on Win 2003.
