in Oracle Applications, are the files needed longer than a day or 2 that are created in the $COMMON_TOP/temp location?

We have files back to the beginning of our system in this directory and it's up to 7gb size used.

Can/should we use a cron to rm these files daily leaving a particular number of day's worth of them on disk at all times?
